For anti-virus I must say for free ones AVG and Computer Associates EZ-Anti-virus are the tops. Ones that cost, I am partial to Norton. That being said Norton 360 is not cpmpatible yet with Vista, but Norton to me is the best. The worst of the worst in pay AV's I say is Macafee.

As for malware in my opinion is Windows Defender, best of all its FREE!! Also Spy-bot Search and destroy and Adaware SE are pretty good.

I have never tried it so I can't offer an opinion on it. Computer Asscoiates you can pay for after your one year free is up. Norton is good if you get the 2008 version of Anti Virus. Norton 360 is not Vista capable yet.

NOD32, Bitdefender and Kaspersky are the top rated in all tests, i believe.

Fourth, F-secure, fift Mcafee and a good 6. Symantecs Norton

( If we add some tests together )

I had norton for yrs now. Finally got rid of the program due to it always taking up too much space on the computer. It is a resource hog. Computer would hang, update kept getting corrupted, sick of it. Went this year to Kaspersky security suite and am very much pleased with it. Love all the things you can check on it and guess what? No system hangings. Don't know if its vista compatable cause I use XP still. Would say on box. Kaspersky does not put 2 to 4 things on startup, only one. Doesn't take as much space either. I was a norton fan but now am glad I changed.
