Unhappy ip address question ....
if you logged on to a wireless connection will the owner of the connection be able to see you computer's physical IP address ... if so, can they use this to hack into your computer?

Your IP address is sent out every time you are on the net.
It is unique to you, and you only. And there fore somewhat of a security threat in privacy.
In places like chatrooms etc, you are using the chatroom's IP; but they (the actual chat room business) can check your IP too (actually they do to confirm that you are you)

Anyway only anonmymous programs can hide your ip, by giving you another one temporarily.

In short: Yes, they could hack into your computer with your IP address. But it's highly unlikely if you have proper protection (Virus, Firewall, etc.). That's what a firewall does; block unwanted access to your computer.
