Windows update problem
Hi, this problem has really been irritating me now, recently my computer was infected spyware, but thanks to you guys it's sorted, i've now started to install windows updates again now that my computer is fixed, but the problem is that when i want to shut down my computer it starts to install the updates before shutting down, the message on the screen says ''installing updates 1 of 1..... don't turn computer off, it will shut down automatically after installing updates'' or along them lines anyway, but my computer doesn't shut down, i've left it for 2 HOURS and nothing, the screen stays just the same.

p.s. The computer hasn't froze or anything because i can still move the mouse cursor about.

hope you can help, thanks!

As a reminder.

Are you still running Ares? You DO KNOW what that program is all about, right?

I'm in agreement with Derek's suggestion in the link I posted above, reformat and reinstall Windows.

As to ares, in that thread, it shows as starting up each time Windows loads in your last log so, even though you think you may not be using it, it may still be sharing your past downloads with others
