Before reformatting a hard drive... If one must reformat a hard drive after a bad malware infestation, what files are totally safe to save to a memory stick for later use? I'm assuming Word documents are OK. How about emails without attachments or with trusted attachments? Itunes? Pictures, Adobe Acrobat documents, etc. Do malware programs ever travel into files like these? Do they only settle down in program and registry files?
If you'd like to point me to a discussion or article that covers this question that would be fine. I wasn't able to find anything with a search. Thanks, V. |
