Hi everyone,
I am using AVG Free Anti virus as my main anti virus,
I also have norton security scan of google pack,
AVG anti spyware (free edition)
Comodo personal firewall with defence+
Spybot search and destroy,
and an AVG Rootkit removal tool,
My question is that do i still need an anti keylogger for my system,
I am being paranoid since i learnt that someone can steal my online banking password.
Please do tell me is my paranoia justified.
Also out of 10 how much would my security rate.
and do inform me what other security tool do i need for my system.
(I am using windows xp with all the updates installed till date, mozilla firefox 2.0.0.11; browsing inside sandboxie)

One more thing, will i have increased security if i use the onscreen keyboard rather than my normal keyboard.

There are no such things as "anti-keyloggers" and you are no safer if you use an onscreen keyboard.

Well thanks for the reply.
Actually on doing google search i found many softwares claiming to block key loggers.
My friend gave me this link http://www.techsupportalert.com/how-...c-terminal.php saying that it is more secure to use onscreen keyboard for entering passwords (THOUGH NOT 100% SECURE, IN FACT NOTHING IS)
Any ways please tell me are my security programs good enough to protect me from day to day threats.

there is such a thing as anti-keyloggers,

actually I'm pretty sure that the defence + part of comodo v3 blocks keyloggers along with other malicious software,

defence + is a hips (host intrusion prevention) they can usually block keyloggers,

another thing to help protect against keyloggers is KeyScrambler it scrambles and encrypts the keys you type so even if you do have a keylogger on your pc it won't be able to see what you type because your keystrokes will be encrypted,

Software keyloggers are, like any other malware, detectable by signature and heuristic-based techniques. If a software keyloggers is attached to the kernel, it can be nearly impossible to detect if it attaches before other security-related products.

Scrambling is silly, since if it exists in plain text somewhere (and you are compromised to the point where you actually have a keylogger running) something can still read it.

And then there are hardware keyloggers... oh boy...

(I'm not trying to jump on anyone here, just throwing some stuff out there as to why everyone is right or everyone is wrong, depending on your mood.)

Yup, I have used KeyScrambler (Pro) for a year now, and I find it very good.
The only thing is that sometimes, it scrambles up what I try to say in the forums like this:

Can be frustrating at times.....But, oh well....

Your paranoia is not justified unless you live with a bunch of roommates, or have a lot of enemies.
If it makes you feel better then run all of the security measures you can find; but it's only an illusion.
Here are some alternative plans to make you safer,
1. Stop doing online banking, or using a computer for sensitive issues.
2. Every time you leave the house pull the HD and take it with you.
3. Use a hardware firewall. (You should be doing this anyway)

You could also try using a small footprint Linux live CD, like Puppy, or DamnSmallLinux, to do your banking. They load up in about 30 seconds - don't touch the HD, and leave zero traces when you're finished because they run from RAM. Loggers, viruses - whatever - won't even see them.

They need to be physically attached. The smallest one's I've seen commercially available are fairly obvious to spot, assuming you're looking, that is. A or covert keylogger is a different matter, but one you shouldn't worry about unless you're protecting state secrets.
