I suggest this...
You can use Blink Antivirus and use Windows Defender to catch the spyware that Blink did not missed. I have used Blink and it did not worked very well with me. If you paid for Blink, then there is no other thing that you can do. But if you got the free edition that they were offering some time ago, I suggest you using a better free antivirus like AVG, Avira Antivir or Avast. All of them offer good protection and, for me, are better than Blink in terms of protection and speed. Also, if you use one of the antivirus that I mentioned you can keep using Windows Defender.

I think Defender is okay for the normal basic user, but if you want really secure then you are going to have to do better.

ZoneAlarm for Firewall, Symantec for Anti-Virus.

Hmmmm. . . I'm sure there are many on this thread who know more about security software than I do, but before you opt for ZoneAlarm and Symantec, you might want to check out http://www.matousec.com/projects/win...ts-results.php. The rating for the free version of ZoneAlarm is 'poor'. Norton AV may be OK, but Norton Internet Security is 'very poor'. Symantec products have a tendency to try to take over your computer, which is only one of the reasons I dumped Norton SystemWorks 3-4 years ago.
