Question Network Security
I wanted to know how network security oriented some of your jobs were.
If you can say, what kind of software/hardware do you use to help keep your network secure. (kinda toutchy question I know)
What are some good things to be familiar with? (programs etc.)
Is the security field a good solid place to focus on?

To keep your network secure you should have a good firewall such as ZoneAlarm pro, and the corporate version of Bit-defender Total security.

Other than Bitdefender I can recommend Symantec, and Nod-32.

For encryption/hard drive securing I would recommend TrueCrypt.

Do you mean the technical questions here ?
If so, then all answers to these questions start on the basic level
Is your firewall on etc.
Then progress from there

Are you asking the board Admins regarding this board
If so, you may need to email them directly
Or they can point you in the right direction
OS ? Firewall ? Antivirus ? Malware ? Rootkit ? Backup ? Image ?

What are some good things to be familiar with? (programs etc.)

As above
But it helps to have a clear understanding of All Microsoft products
And ideally Mac and Linux too !

No (ironically)
It is better to have a broad knowledge across all technical issues
From Hardware - Software - Networking (incl. security) - Multimedia(incl design)
And progamming skills too!
