AVG Install problem
Problem occured with my AVG was told to re-install because unable to obtain updates.....uninstalled AVG and tried to re-install but i keep getting............................

Installer initialization failed due to the following error:
Undefined error: Invalid command line argument "and".



Any suggestions on how to correct this problem ???

Hi make sure you remove all entries to Avg before reinstalling.
Use the uninstall from the Avg program and then check in files and folders and remove any entry to Avg.
Then try reinstallng.

Have uninstalled AVG however when i do run a scan it shows Grisoft in Docs and Settings\Application Data folder................unable to access this folder ...any ideas

Okay was able to finally install the program...however why would i have to right click to run as and uncheck protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity to get it to install.......this is about the 3rd program i have had to do this with...........Running XP Pro and have Comodo Pro firewall

Hi good question.
Is your Firewall giving you this message?
While offline disable Comodo and install Avg.
See if that helps.

Don't forget to re-enable Comodo.

Not the Firewall or Anti - Virus....it is the Run As window....I guess its a Windows Application. And i did try and do the disable firewall and avg and the same result

Hi its' installed in "Grisoft in Docs and Settings\Application Data folder"
Should be installed in Program files.

Thanks for the help blues.......but i dont see any application data folders in my program files.......even did a run search for the folder and nothing comes up......know it has to be there.....no worries man....have the AVG running again ....no reason to get ourselves going mental over this situation.....Have a drink on me for you help and Happy New Year to ALL
