Solved: Question
Hi,
I'm using Vista HP and I have the Vista firewall on. I've installed a router between the cable modem and the computer. Although I pass all Shields Up tests, I cannot pass the leak test - shows that I'm leaking but I can check it out by saying NO except there is no window popping up where I can say NO. Is this a problem or is the router and Visa FW enough protection? Thanks.

Vista can pass GRC's LeakTest if you set Vista Firewalls Properties to 'block' outbound. However you then have to add outbound rules to allow programs to access the internet. Vista doesn't prompt you to 'allow' or 'deny' a program to access the net, it just silently denies it.

Many thanks for the reply. I think that I solved my problem with the leak test. I downloaded and and installed the free "Vista Firewall Control" that does give me the option to approve or deny a program. When I denied access, then the leaktest passed and to be on the safe side I approved and the leak test again failed. My setup with the router now appears complete and safe. Thanks again.
