Solved: Ad-Aware Queries
What is the difference between Ad-Aware SE and Ad-Aware 2007....

I already have Ad-Aware SE which i got years ago, and I noticed someone had a link to Ad-Aware 2007 on one of ther post on this forum. I went to install Ad-Aware 2007 to check it out and the instalation program tried to uninstall my Ad-Aware SE first, so i thought i check before i made any changes and see what is going to serve me better....

Cheers

I presently use Ad-Aware 2007 now. From what I know 2007 is the current version and SE is the older version. I guess that it depends upon what OS you're using. If your computer can use 2007 then uninstalling SE is not a problem.

SE will work on 98 and ME and 2007 will not so if you got 98 or ME your out of luck using 2007.
No more updates for the free SE version.

But they have always had two definition files at there site and one for SE and one for 2007.
I got the SE definition file and unzipped it and updated.
But not sure if all will be ok doing this but it seems to be ok.

Thanks for the info i'm running Ad-aware 2007 now and have uninstalled SE, The interface just seems a bit more modern than what i had but i think thats about the only difference seeing i'm only using the freeware version. It picked up the normal problems that SE did so happy at this stage.
