Antivirus, signature or zero-day?
I've heard that zero-day, or heuristic driven is better than signature based updates in antivirus programs. Is this true? What are the pros and cons of each? I have heard of ThreatFire antivirus free, is this a good heuristic antivirus program?

yes theatfire is a very good security program but the free version of threatfire isn't actually an anti-virus it's a behavioral blocker it watches your computer for anything suspicious and alerts you if it finds some thing,

threatfire is made to run alongside your current anti-virus program for extra security,

one pro is if it's a new threat then there's a chance that it's not in the anti-virus signatures yet,

but a con is that some times a legit program looks malicious and the zero day security program will alert you and you'll have to decide if you want it to run or not but with threatfire you get the option to allow or quarantine so if you find out a program you quarantined is a safe program then you can just recover it from quarantine.
