| i seem to have a problem referred to in Tech Guy jan newsletter where unwanted websites appear when I am browsing. I also get frequent HTTP 404 messages which can be closed by clicking upper right X. I have downloaded and run Windows defender which reports all well. I have also run a spyware tool which does report and cleans some problems. Any ideas plse? |

| Hi, Have you tried following those steps a few more times? I've never seen anyone have problems getting that list saved. Use Search from your Start button, click "All Files and Folders" for what to look for, type this into the line as file to search for: uninstall_list.txt and then change the location to search IN> to Drive C: See if you can find that file, it's the list I wanted to see....open it if you find it, Edit>Select All> Edit again> Paste it into a Reply that you will have waiting and submit it.

| Thanks for that. No luck in finding file but I wd mention that having run a spyware tool which found and cleared some spyware-tracking cookies, adware, and trojans, the problem seems to have cleared. I would mention that my regular spyware tool, Norton, always gave a clean report. Many thanks for your help Byteman |
