Hi,
I will retype this paragraph so you can see what happens when the cursor jumps around at random--it is very hard and time consuming to write even the briefest email. The same problem occurs in MS Word.

I can use software programs but I know little or nothing about viruses or fixing things or ??? I am new to PCs and much more familiar with MACS (never had a MAC virus).

I set this computer up for my Mom to use for email. It originally had Norton Security on it (for 2006) but it was not renewed. My brother has used it a lot for email and ???

I have run AVG Anti Spyware 7.5 and Windows Live Onecare but errors(stilppeningl ha) still happening.
XP Home Edition 2002 with service pack 2. Compaq R4000 Laptop. AMD Athlon (tm) 64 Processor 3500+ 448 Mhz 1 GM RAM

Has anyone had this problem before? Does it have a name? How can I fix it? or do I have to clear the computer and set up over again with the starter discs that came with it in 2006?

Thanks!
