Anti-Virus recommendation for small business
Hi all,

I have just implemented a Small Business Server 2003 with 8 clients, along with a Cisco ASA 5505 firewall.

I am trying to decide on an anti-virus solution that is not going to be too "heavy", with add-ins, etc all over the place. Just want something basic that can do virus scans periodically (since 2 of the client PCs are laptops that go home with their owners).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks,
Carson

Go for avira antivirus premium edition
(www.avira.com ).
Even the freeware avira classic edition is a good choice but it does not give spyware/adware protection.

Any other recommendations? This company does not have US tech support phone numbers. Doesn't seem ideal for me....

yeah avira is in Germany...( but i think virus protection should be given more importance than support & avira surely leads in this & i dont think support should be much of a problem)
Among other choices you can go in for kaspersky av but it has a very slow scanning speed.
Nod32 ,the scanning speed is fast but i dont think it is as good as many reviews show it to be (it missed a few infected files on my pc )

SC Magazine gave a Best Anti-Malware Award to Webroot Enterprise. You may want to check it out. It includes its own very good anti-spyware and Sophos's antivirus.

Hi carsonmiller,
I agree with avalanch3 on NOD32 by eset. It now also has a security suite and as the anti-virus programme is very easy to customise, I would assume the security suite will be just as good. NOD32 is also one of the most accurate and resource-friendly AV's going. I have used a couple of others and am going to return to eset after problems with the others I have used.
Regards Paula
