Angry Microsoft OneCare Live
I purchased OneCare live v2.0 for my windows XP machine, my internet access is provided by Verizon DSL (verizon.net). When I inserted the CD it automatically launched to the OneCare web site and started downloading. The installation reported that it completed successfully, however I was never prompted for the product key. I also had problems creating the Windows live ID and subscribing for the service. I worked around the ID issue by going to the OneCare live website and creating the windows live ID. Then I uninstalled the onecare program and ran their removal tool. I installed the product again (launched to website), this time I was able to logon but I still can not subscribe. OneCare launches my browser but it is pointing to the URL "%22https" (I get a warning about the URL from my yahoo.verizon online security) then it either jsut stops or closes the browser. I tried to change the default browser to vanilla IE but the subscription process always opens the verizon browser. I've also turned off the verizon and windows firewall. I reviewed the OneCare online blog but could not find a posting about this problem. Has anyone come across this problem? Thank you, Jeff

Hi jeffsaba
There is an article about the perils of installing OneCare in a ZDnet article at http://www.zdnet.com.au/reviews/soft...9258790,00.htm which might be of some assistance.
