Should I disable McAfee Spyware?
My McAfee Spyware is on after re-installing my new hard drive, XP, and all my stuff. Question: When I re-install AdAware will it work OK with McAfee or should I turn off the McAfee spyware feature (which doesn't seem to do much.)

Also I plan on doing some more of the recommendations in the "Security Stickies" like Spy Blaster.

Hi best to have only one real-time Spyware program running.
Which you disable is your call.
Real-time Spyware program never seem to do much until they flag something up as being a threat.

No it's AdAware I've paid for and plan to put back into service on my new hard drive.

The paid version of AdAware, unlike the free version, has real-time protection and as blues_harp28 said you should only have one running at a time.

McAfee's strengths have always been their anti-virus program and firewall. AdAware was designed specifically for spyware, so that's the one I'd use and disable McAfee. When you run an anti-virus scan with McAfee it will still scan for spyware or as they call it PUPs, Potentially Unwanted Programs.
