I just got this pc, and formated it completly now
anything i download is corrupt, i have tried to remove temp internet files, that did not work, i got spyware doctor did a scan and it removed some harmful things, I thought i was good to go, but when i download things they are still corrupt.

this has been happening ever since i installed windows xp pro(legit, just used backup cd).
I do not belive it is a hardware issue as i am able to do most things except download anything i was able to download on another pc and run the files on this pc.

I hope this does make since to someone, and someone is able to help, i have gotten almost all windows xp updates still working on it, Please advise me of what I can do.

i have been tring to fix this on and off for 2 days now.

Check your memory and install all the updates. Then let us know.

Can you explain what you mean by corrupt?

For example, if you download an EXE file and run it, what happens?

If you download a JPG and try to open it, what happens?

If you download a ZIP file and open it, what happens?

Iinstead of downloading the file, try running it directly.
Does this work?
