McAfee Shuts down Windows and Restarts!
I downloaded a free trail verson of Mcafee and the moment it was installed my system rebooted. The comp will only load to the log-in screen than it flashes a blue screen read something along the lines of " Windows has encounted a problem and needs to shut down." It tells me to start it in safe mode, I did and it never got passed the code screen. I think what I need to do is get McAfee off but cant get it to stay on long enough. Any sugestion would be awesome! THX

I had a similar experience when I tried to install drivers. To fix it, I did a system restore.

did you try booting into safe mode?
when your computer is starting and you see the boot screen keep tapping F8 until you get to a screen that gives you the option to boot into safe mode

Also, once in you might want to turn off the 'automatically restart' option so you can read the errors when they appear. (It's in System Properties, Advanced, Startup & Recovery Settings, System Failure section.)

Worst case of this I had was a PC that wouldn't turn off. Had to hold down the power button or it'd simply reboot when you told it to shut down. What was happening, of course, was that it was encountering an error while shutting down-and that setting then caused it to reboot even though the error occurred while shutting down!

yeah, I tried to boot in safe mode but it never boots past the command seq( I think that what it is) ...all the seq on a screen that's black. Should I give more time to work? I left it on that screen for maybe2 min or so.

About the system restore, I dont think I've tried that. I'm not sure how to do it. Would you mind walking me threw it...? thanks for respomding! You guys ROCK!
