i've used norton/symantec av for years and am very happy with it.

if you pig it up with norton system works or norton security and the av it will take a lot of resources.

if you do a search for avg, you'll many folks with problems who hate it and others who love it.

depends on your personal opinion,

if you're happy with norton stay with it if you're not happy with it then switch,

may I ask which version of norton you're using?

you can take a look at this thread http://forums.techguy.org/general-se...ree-avast.html to decide between avg or avast if you decide to switch.

Switch. Worst thing about Norton was refusal of a tech to help move an installed version to a new PC. Not copy it-the old PC was already dead but the tech said that once it was activated on the old PC it could not be activated again on the new. Now I'm certain that was BS, but the tech insisted it was Symantec's policy. That alone was enough for me. After 10 years with Norton I'm now running AVG.

well since you think norton sucks (so do I) then I say switch,

there's avast, avg, avira a few free one's,
there's more but not really worth mentioning since most of the other free anti-virus's don't have that great of a detection rate thats because other than those three most free anti-virus's are rather new,

norton 360 is very resource hungry I had it on my pc once when it first came out,

just choose an anti-virus and make sure you use the removal tool posted by golferbob
