Anyone having Spybot S&D issues like me
Starting the program takes a couple tries. I hit the icon and nothing happens. I go to the task mgr and have to stop it in the processes list. Then try again but it takes a while before it loads

and

I've recently had problems as far as no response after downloading of updates, Once the up dates are done I hit the exit button and the program freezes

Any opinions on theis programs? I know it's free and may be not as good as a pay one but are there others that do as good or better, even besides adaware 2007?

Yup, hence me advising you switch. i used to deal with sb but changed around a year ago as it wasnt picking up as much as spyware terminator, it has real-time protection and a user friendly interface and you can schedule automatic scanning.

Have a look for yourself.

I also use Spyware Terminator and I like it. It's the only free Anti-Spyware program that I know of that has both real-time protection and automatic updates. The real-time protection is better then Spybot TeaTimer, but you can still keep Spybot as a scanner, just don't run the Spyware Terminator real-time protection and TeaTimer at the same time. You can also still use the Spybot Immunize and Hosts features.

When you install Spyware Terminator don't install the ClamAV component because it might conflict with your Anti-Virus program.

Yep. So much trouble that I just took it off my computer. I don't remember it ever finding any spyware at all anyhow. That and Windows Defender. Changed to Spyware Terminator and Comodo.
