Installation Process
I have Norton Internet Security. My subscription has run out, and I'm going to install some free programs . . . Avast AV, Commodo firewall.

Any others you would recommend?

What order should I do all of this? Download programs, then uninstall Norton, disconnect from Internet, then install programs?

Any assistance would be appreciated, as I've never done the download method with security programs.

Avast + Comodo works great. I've been using both for over a year.

From Microsoft:

Quote:
1. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
2. Click the General tab. The operating system appears as follows: • For a 64-bit version operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Version < Year> appears under System.
• For a 32-bit version operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version< Year> appears under System.

Note <Year> is a placeholder for a year.
