website tracking....can they identify computer
I know that websites can track IP's and use cookies etc. If somebody deletes their cookies and connects through another internet provider with the same computer is there any way that websites or webmasters can figure out that the same computer is being used? Example : Somebody for instance uses two different aliases on the same site, but always clears their cookies and changes their ISP before logging in and out. Is the computer itself identifiable? Don't worry, nothing shady here, just trying to figure something out

It's really easy to clone, though.

Haha! It's reporting a Realtek RTL8139 chipset for me. My computer has a Marvell 88E8056 chipset. In fact, even the OUI part of the MAC that it's reporting (00:50:22) is different than what my D-Link DGL-4300 has: 00:17:9A

That didn't even come close to anything on my network.
