We have Virus/Internet/Firewall security with Norton but with two laptops & one desktop it's getting pretty expensive. Since we're coming up for remewal, is there a better way?

$80/year gets you Norton 360 for all three computers.

You may want to try something free, like Grisoft AVG or Avast Home Edition.

ive heard plenty of complaints about 360 i would also suggest the free ones, they seem to offer protection very close to- or better than paid for programs like McAfee... out of the 2 free ones suggested i would go for Avast! it offers a better detection rate...

The only bad thing about Norton is that it's terribly boated, it's slow and has too many features, but if you are ok with that it has one of the best anti-virus engines.
