is it normal for there to be 6 svchost.exe processes?

Process Explorer currently shows that I have seven svchost.exe processes running on XP Home, and that they are all Microsoft related 'Generic Host processes' (whatever that means). You can get your own copy of Process Explorer from here; http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/s.../bb896653.aspx

You are right to be concerned because I see from other posts here that svchost.exe can sometimes be used by malware.
