Question Lastest Windows Updates?
My PC clock has always ran about 7 seconds slow a week since I bought the Windows XP system 2 yrs ago. Tuesday, 02/12/08 I installed the latest Windows Updates and now my PC clock runs 7 seconds fast a day. I don't really know if the updates cause my clock to run faster but it sure does seem so.

Anyone else notice this on their Windows XP systems since installing the 02/12/08 updates?

Thanks ...

My XP Home clock seems to run plus or minus 3 or 4 seconds when compared to my radio controlled wristwatch using GMT. That situation has not changed since the recent updates, although I only installed three of them, KB94453, 946026 and 943055.

I use the 'Custom' option and always refuse the Malicious Software Removal Tool (my own security apps are are as good, if not better) and I don't use Defender.

TOGG:
I installed the 3 updates you did plus KB943992. I did some more research on that update and found out even though I was offered it, I really don't need it. I have Microsoft Office Word Viewer 2003 SP3 and according to the Microsoft Security Bulletin MS08-009:

Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 3 is not impacted by the security vulnerabilities documented in this bulletin. However, users will still be offered this update because the updated files for Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 3 are newer (with higher version numbers) than the files that were delivered with Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 3.

I have removed the KB943992 update and hopefully my XP system clock will return back to where it was.

Thanks for your input. I'll post back in this thread in a couple of days to let you know the results.
