Invisible Mcaffee personal firewall plus
I'm trying to temporarily disable all firewalls. I turned off Windows Firewall, but in the Security center it still says Mcafee Personal Firewall is on. It was preinstalled, but I deleted it yet somehow it still remains. It is not in the Add/Remove Programs anymore, or in the Start menu or Icon tray. All firewalls are turned off in Control Panel. Can you tell me how to get rid of this. I have a Dell with Windows XP.

Didn't work
Ran the program twice, but it still shows up in Security center. Any other suggestions?

Do you mean Windows Security Center? (McAfee also has one)

In regedit go to

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameter s\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile]

Make sure "EnableFirewall" and "DoNotAllowExceptions" are both set to zero.
