Getting permission errors
We have 3 servers 1)SBS 2003 2) SQL server & 3)Termserver Microsoft 2003
server. We have about 19 PC's connected to the network running XP's. For
the last couple of weeks we have had strange things going on. I think I can
pinpoit it to a Windows automatic Update. Nobody except administrator can
get into clipart or do search. The clipart error we get is "clip organizer
cannot access the file Access denied Error code 0x80070005" The search
for file or folder we get "A file that is required to run search companion cannot be found. You may need to run setup." I assume it is a security issue
because administrator can do them. This is very frustrating. Can anybody
help?

Maybe the event log can tell you something more, like what file name is missing. Do a search again and immediately go to event log to look and see if new error messages appear.

Thanks for responding. I did what you said & it did not generate any messages. I don't think that really a file is missing or the administrator would not be able to do it. Am I right thinking that way?

well yes, the file is probably not missing. I was also hoping that the event log will tell you what it thinks is missing, then we can go find the file and check its permissions.

This is really frustrating. I know it has to be a security, permissions problem but have no idea what went wrong or how to fix it. We are also getting script errors & all kinds of stuff but I am sure it is all related.
