I am sure this is something I have done wrong during a recent Disc Defrag and system clean (no I wasn't sure what I was doing) However I have now lost the ability to start my BT modem Lock. It just flashes Red and Yellow and should be green. I also can't do a System restore from any Date? I don't think I have a rogue dialler installed but how would I know? How can I get my sytem restore back to se if this helps. Many Thanks C P.S Please kep it simple Thanks

Hi the good old BT modem lock.
Try click on Bt icon on the desktop>configure>Configure Modem lock>untick Modem lock>ok.
If you can then get online redownload their Modem lock.

Hi Thanks but it wont let me do it. If I untick then apply I get an error message? I am presuming that this lock is not that important re rogue diallers as long as I keep checking my connect manager and it confirms my BT dial up number, or am I being to trusting or even paranoid?
Many Thanks
C

Hi I have found that the Modem lock keeps throwing up odd numbers like 08..29. etc or such long numbers that make little sense.
I have in the past been concerned at what it throws up but I now ignore it.
As long as you are protecting you system with other programs.
A-Squared provide an anti-dialler program.
