is it ok to enable windows defender and ca anti-spyware together? thanks.

Is this the CA product to which you refer? If so, yes.

It is a BAD idea to run 2 AntiVirus programs simultaneously, or to run 2 Firewall programs simultaneously, but many people run 2 AntiSpyware programs. I don't, but many do.
