Someone has borrowed my email address. Daily, I receive email messages from myself, that I did not send.

My email client reports that a message has arrived from "me@mydomain.moc" .

I have spoken with my SMTP server. They are aware and do not consider me a spammer.

However, I am concerned that my legitimate correspondents may have blocked my legitimate messages.

Other than changing my email address, which I prefer to avoid, what can I do?

Some spammers will insert your email in the "from" part of the header hoping that makes you read it. I just got one today like that and it even stuck my email in the body of the message. It's all faked unless the email is coming thru your smtp.mail.yourdomain.com gate, in which case someone has your password. Look at the header and there should be a real return path.

It's what happens when you stick your email on a website. Spammers grab it.

I try not to worry about it, figuring it happens to everyone.
