Question Solved: Has anyone used Ccleaner before
I just downloaded the newest version of Ccleaner yesterday. I've always used it to remove MRU's, but I just noticed that it has a Registry Integrity function. I used the Scan for Issues part and got quite a lot of "issues". It then gave me the option to "Fix Selected Issues". Should I have done this? I have never used a Registry fix program before and I am not familiar with what should be fixed or not. Your assistance is appreciated.

Yes, Its a great litle program. Registry cleaning has various opinions. You can always undo chnages to registryy cleaning with Ccleaner. Make sure you save the .reg file it creates--make a folder for it. It is one of the "milder" reg cleaners I have used. Never had a problem with it like I have with other reg cleaners (regseeker--good but you must be careful).

CCleaner is one of the best software of its kind ever made in my opinion.

Do NOT use the issues "feature". Things that a registry cleaner finds are not problems, regardless of what the program is saying. Cleaning the registry does not improve performance and you run the risk of windows or programs failing.
Yes, there is a backup, but if your PC no longer boots this is of little use. And, if in 6 months you attempt to use that infrequently used feature in Windows or one of your programs, and it no longer works as a result of a registry entry being deleted, the backup is of no use.

Use CCleaner to remove Temp files and TIF files, but leave the registry alone.

As said already ... Do NOT clean the registry.
Do you have any Cookies stored using passwords ??
The cookie cleaning option will Clean these unless you tell CCleaner to not erase the ones you want to keep.
Do you have your passwords written down somewhere ??

My goodness, thanks for all of the advice everyone!!
Yes, I do have my passwords written down, Noyb. But I try not to use cookies that store them.
Whitphil, some of the issues that it mentioned did have to do with temp files.
I will NOT clean the registry..I will NOT clean the registry...I will NOT clean the registry.
I will leave this open a little while longer in case someone else has a similar problem.
Thanks again to everyone. I will NOT clean the registry.......

I have several cookies w (non-critical) Passwords ... TSG is one of them.
After you Cclean (cookies) ... You can login in again .. then tell CCleaner to Keep this cookie.
