Solved: Firefox & IE won't load certain webpaes
Not sure if this is the right forum to post this question in but here goes anyway...

I've been having problems accessing certain websites the last week and a half. Prior to this I haven't had any problems accessing the sites. I tried in both firefox and IE and both show a connection time out whenever I try to access the sites. I have cleared my Windows DNS cache and checked my firewalls and I still can't get access to the websites, specifically http://pitas.com, http://eat.pizzahuthawaii.com, http://zshare.net .

I am able to get into http://megaupload.com but whenever I try to download a file from there it gives me a timeout error. Also when I try to load google by google.com, it takes forever to load up the website.

The only firewall program that I'm running is windows firewall. I have the current Firefox 2.0.0.12 and my antivirus is McAffee but it doesn't contain a firewall. I am able to access all of these sites from other computers (at work) but not at home.

Does anyone have an idea as to what might be happening and can help me?

zshare.net you need the java script to run and then wait for it to count down to get a download and then it gives you the link.

http://megaupload.com I don't remember if you need to have java script run or not but don't think so. But they have a code you have to type in.

http://eat.pizzahuthawaii.com/ you need JavaScript to run.

I don't know about the other site but guess it is the same and you need JavaScript and or cookies.

Also some sites that don't work right your need the JavaScript and or cookies.
You may have to reload the page to get things to work.

Well what do u use? DSL? dial-up? broadband? why not trying to check your internet conections or if your using LAN networking, such as an adapter, maybe you u should to use a more reliable and secure SSID. Such as a SSID that is secure with an excellant connection. Unfortuantly, u will need a password for such SSID's but tell me what u have =]

I use a cable modem to connect to the internet. I have a desktop connected to the modem and my laptop through a linksys wireless router. I'm not able to connect to the sites from both my laptop and my pc for some odd reason. The weird thing is that last week everything was working fine, I was able to access the sites and I didn't change any of the settings on my laptop and pc. I think that I'm using WEP encryption to secure my wireless.

I do have javascript and it works on other sites just fine and is up to date.

I did do a trace yesterday on one of the URLs and it just ended up timing out the whole time. =/

Well for some reason now I can access the pages so I think it must have been something with my ISP. =/

It could of been your ISP if things changed at the web site and your ISP did not update there DNS.
