The thing about COMODO is that its abit confusin in their popups askin questions.. So i want somethin which is automatic in that rather than askin questions whether i wanna allowed it or not.. And yes i went thru hell removin it from my system. So zone alarm is good?

Ok ive jus bought Outpost Firewall Pro and i have Avast Home edition. Somehow when i wanna install Outpost Firewall it says to Disable Avast TDI shield. But the thing is iam just usin Antivirus of Avast not firewall. Sayin this is it respondin that iam usin Firewall and should i ignore this because iam not usin any other firewall or have used yet. ==>

To avoid conflicts during product operation, please set the "Start" value in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\aswTdi key to 4 and restart your computer. This will disable Avast! TDI Shield.

So will it still conflict if i go on to install Outpost Firewall without changin anythin like it says? Please advise. Thank You! ..................

Yes but does it do the protection automatically or do we have to answer each and every questions it asks?

any firewall with outbound protection will give you some alerts if you want zero alerts you would need to find a firewall without outbound control like the built-in windows firewall or a hardware firewall like alphashield or a router with NAT+SPI

The thing is you say you want something that will ‘automatically’ set the permissions for your programs, well the thing is that you as the user have to have SOME control over what you ALLOW and what you DENY access to the internet and to your computer, ZA is very good as you can set the level of security you want it to administer. You will get popups with all firewalls as it gives you the option to allow or deny access, but you only ever need to do this once for each program as the firewall will keep this answer and will not need to ask you again. otherwise what would be the point of having a firewall if everything is automatic?

Anyways i still recommend ZA
