cannot browse to microsoft.com For the past 2 days, I have not been able to get to Microsoft. I also cannot get downloads from some tech help sites although I can get to their home pages. I also cannot get my email through the Yahoo Mail page, only through Outlook. I can browse the NY Times and other benign sites. I have a current McAfee package, with up-to-date defs and scans. Have run Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, AVG Antispyware, CWShredder, and CCleaner looking for bad guys. But have only found some mid-level tracking cookies, which I deleted and still could not get where I wanted to.
The only item I found related to this issue was on Experts Exchange, which I was only able to access by using my husband's laptop with his Verizon broadband card -- no luck going out over AT&T my home ISP. They talked about a DNS server attack. But I didn't understand how I could do a fix on my pc. Or if I was even close in my search, for that matter.
Does anyone have any ideas here for me to try?
Thanks,
