Question GOING INSANE! "WEP" key? whaa?
um ok so im not tech-savvy when it comes down to this. so bassically i had my dell computer fixed because it had like 924783958 viruses, and now my linksys wireless adapter thingie when i install it demands a "WEP" key and a passcode. ive been looking like everywhere to locate this information and im just driving my self insane. i have a linksys router and a cable modem. please explain this as though i was like retarded because i cant understand all those big computer words, lol. so my question is... Where and how do i find this wep key, and is there a way to pull up the information on my other computer?

The router configuration determines the WEP key, so if you don't remember your WEP key, you'll have to enter a known one in the router's configuration and remember it this time.

Do you have a manual for your router? You can type 192.168.1.1 into your browsers address bar to gain access to the router. If you don't have the manual however, you should get the 14 year old kid down the street to do this for you.
