Is Logmein, etc. safe?
I am thinking about trying to help a friend of mine 3,000 miles away who is having many computer problems. She knows nothing of computers, has no money and knows nobody who even has a computer....so no help there.

I know I can use remote assistance, but she does not have XP pro which I believe is needed.

Anyway, what are your opinions about the safety of using something like LogMeIn or Anyplace-Control, etc?

I searched secunia and securityfocus and didn't find any vulnerabilities. So I'd say LogMeIn is safe for now.

Do you think there is any way of transferring viruses from her computer (if she has any) to mine if I do help her this way?
