Solved: Java VM?
A Tech Guy Security information post by dvk01 (02-Mar-2004) suggested making sure the installation of Java VM is up to date because there are some well known security bugs with Microsoft Java VM which are exploited regularly by broser hijackers.

Where do I find Java VM on my operating system XP (home SP2) and how do I update it?

Thank you for your comments! Tom

Given that the post was dated 02-Mar-2004, if you have kept WinXP Home SP2 up-to-date with the monthly updates on update Tuesdays, then you are probably ok by now since that was 4 years ago.

Check here for installation/uninstallation information on Java VM.
