NIS 2008 Crimeware Protection
In the settings menu, the default is off for crimeware protection. I turned it on a few days ago to check it out, but now have it back to the default which is off.

My question is relating to the Norton Protection Center. When crimeware protection is turned on, is it supposed to appear in the Norton Protection Center in the identity section?

When I had crimeware protection turned on, the Norton Protection Center only showed phishing protection. Reason I'm asking is I saw the NIS 2008 screenshots at the Symantec site, and the Norton Protection Center screenshot showed both the phishing and crimeware protections as secure. Even though it doesn't show up in the Norton Protection Center, is crimeware protection still doing its job when turned on?

Thank you.

Hi Blue452,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team responding to your question about Norton Internet Security.

The Crimeware protection status does not display in the Norton Protection Center under the "Home" tab. However, you can always check the status by selecting the "Norton Internet Security" tab, then click on "Settings" and then click on "Transaction Security." You will then see the status of the Crimeware Protection. If you have the Crimeware option turned Off, then you are not protected from Crimeware.

Thank you,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Before posting here, I tried searching the Norton help and also the internet for the answer but could not find anything. I also thought that maybe something had gone wrong during the installation process. So I appreciate your taking the time to answer my question to my satisfaction.

Thanks much,
