Question Solved: need help wiping clean personal data
I'm selling my computer (XP OS) and I want to be certain that all of my personal data has been wiped clean. I know formating does not do this. I've heard of a few programs that will wipe the hard drive, I would really value some help in deciding on which to use. I'd like one that is fairly simple, I have a little more than basic computer knowledge but none the less I don't want to get lost. After using the program, can I also reformat my system? One program that I've heard of is WipeDrive 5, any thoughts on this one. with thanks

Don't wipe the drive unless you have the means to reload the OS and all the required drivers. Do you have a Compaq restore CD to make that a no-brainer?
