Help !! My PC is sick!

I have Windows Vista and and Im thinking I had a virus Im not sure, but my computer you couldnt open any folders or my computer or even the control panel. I ended up reformatting it to how it was when I bought it. Well now its saying my computer is full, how can that be? When you open My Computer you see C drive and D drive and theres bars underneath each showing what your space is and on the C drive it is a Red line all the way across Does anyone maybe know whats going on?
