I'm using Symantec version 10.1.6.6000. My computer is up to date, running Windows XP Pro, SP2.

I've got it set up to do a full scan every day at 5:00 am. It does the scan, but the little window that says it's scanning is missing. A while back, it was coming up late, and would only show as the scan finished, but now it never shows. This isn't a problem normally, but on the rare day I wake early and want to pause the scan, I can't.

Is there some simple way to fix this or do I need to uninstall/reinstall my virus software?
