Exclamation Virus removed.?
Hey

i ran a full system scan with avast lastnight, which told me i had a virus running in my system, and avast could only remove it if i stop it running. it was nammed something like criss.exe

so i went to task manager and found that process running and stopped it, so avast removed it.

on the next reboot and everyone there after i keep getting an error message saying that "criss.exe cannot be found"

i have tried looking in start-run-msconfig to disable this from my startup menu but it is not there.

how can i get this to stop appearing everytime i load up my system.? without reinstalling.

Manny Thanks

Kenny

You have an csrss imposter and that cannot be good. The real csrss.exe is a windows file located in c:\windows\system32 and is needed to run windows.

Other than that, no other suggestons.

There are quite a few spots (beside what msconfig shows) where apps can be made to load on startup.

I would post a HijackThis log for a log specialist to take a look. HijackThis is available here:

Use "Do a system scan and save a log file", and notepad will open with a log of what it finds, copy and paste the contents here. Don't ask it to fix anything.
