F-Secure Antivirus 7.0 scan locks up computer
If I try to do a full scan with F-Secure Anti-virus 7.0, my system freezes during the scan. It never happens at the same place. The mouse cursor still moves but nothing else works. I have to hit the reset button to reboot. While the scan uses a fair amount of CPU resources, it doesn't max it out. I can run prime95 for an hour without a problem. Panda Activescan 2.0 works just fine in full scan mode. I haven't error checked or defragged in a while. I also had a malware infection recently which I think I have corrected. My system has a Phenom 9600 Black edition CPU (not overclocked), a MSI K9A2 Platinum version 1 MB (bios version 1.30), 2048 MB (2x 1024 MB) Mushkin HP2-6400 running at the SPD settings, Gigabyte GV-RX387512H Radeon HD 3870 graphics, Creative X-Fi Platinum sound card and Linksys wireless g adapter. There are two SATA hard drives and two IDE drives and an LG super multi GGC-H20L optical drive. The WinXP Sp2 OS is on a Maxtor SATA-300 drive. The power supply is s Corsair HX620W. Most partitions are formatted as NTFS but I do have a couple of FAT-64 partitions.

Help or useful comments would be appreciated.
