Try first.. reboot to safe mode.
Tap F8 at startup and uninstall Comodo.
Let us know if it will then startup to desktop ok. | | Senior Member with 427 posts. | | Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Fife, Scotland Experience: Advanced | | I also thoroughly advise against using commodo!!!!!
although it may be free, its not especially commendable when it comes to protection and removal of viruses.
If still wanting to go down the free route, i advice more on getting yourself avast or avg. | | Senior Member with 163 posts. | | Join Date: Jun 2007 Experience: Advanced | | I don't know this program, but if that is what causing the rebooting, you should uninstall it from safe mode (by hitting the F8 key during boot, as already mentioned) and maybe you could try re-installing it. If it still doesn't work, then uninstall it once again. | | Junior Member with 16 posts. | | Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Texas Experience: Beginner | | Yes Thank you I tried what you said to boot up in safe mode and uninstalling comodo, and it worked my pc boots up normally again, what do you recommend for pc security, as far as firewall, malware removal, etc.? | | Distinguished Member with 5,240 posts. | | Join Date: May 2005 Location: Super Bowl & Stanley Cup Experience: ,The Jimi Hendrix | | | | | Junior Member with 16 posts. | | Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Texas Experience: Beginner | | I have been using AVG Internet Security 8.0, but from what I have been reading lately it isn't enough to protect my pc completely, I don't know alot about this stuff but I really want to learn how to better protect my pc from all of the dangers these days. | | Distinguished Member with 8,354 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: London England | | | | | Senior Member with 427 posts. | | Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Fife, Scotland Experience: Advanced | | AVG and Avast run a pretty good protection against viruses for freeware and Zonealarm has good stead as a firewall.
I personally use Superantispyware for my malware troubles aswell and its been the best out of all i have tried. | THIS THREAD HAS EXPIRED.
