I had kept my comp on last night but when i came this morning it was restarted....
it was not due to overheating or a recovery from an error, nor was there any update done, because if any of these happen then the computer shows me that after i login....what seems to be the problem??

So the issue has only happened once? Have you done any scans? You can also post a Hijackthis Log if you are thinking its related to malware.

It restarted only once? I don't think I'd be too worried about it at this point. Also, please do not use the REPORT THREAD option for trying to receive expedited help. Be sure to read before you report.

Even though you may think there wasn't a power surge or anything, stuff happens. It's electronics. Mine rebooted the other day for no reason I saw.

As to the reporting, that is for Hijack This logs only, in the malware removal forum.

If its only happened once and has not re-occurred in over a month and you have no other issues then I'd say no.

ok my comp has just shut down due to overheating
and has started after being off for 10 mins

Thought you said it wasn't overheating

You need to find out WHY it's overheating. Is the fan ontop of the cpu spinning? Is there dust and dirt built up inside?

Please post your computer specs and the temps you are seeing from the computer. As mentioned check for dust build up ALL the fans including the one in the back of the power supply and especially the one on the CPU.

Open up the computer case. I have a Pentium 4 Comp...horrible heat issues. My case can be propped open and ever since, the comp has been whisper quiet.
