Im having quite a strange problem, I was trying to install mcafee on my computer from a CD and the program will just flash on for a split second then disappear. Other antivirus programs will do the same also. Then I thought I would try to download from the internet so I went to google then typed in antivirus programs then my internet disappeared, it did this repeatedly everytime I would try to search for antivirus, or mcafee, or any other antivirus by name. I ran housecall online virus scan, had one, and a few adware, removed them, but I still have the same problem. Im stumped!! Not very computer literate, so I need lots of help!!

Its a Dell desktop, not sure of anything else, Windows XP, and a DSL connection.

Sounds like you are infected. Try another online scanner, or try scanning from a bootable medium while Windows is not running.
