Question problems w/ Norton AV 2008
I had my Norton AV set up to run a scan at midnight every day of the week. Up until a few days ago, it ran the scheduled scan, every day, with no problems. It has not run the scheduled scan for 5 days now. If I want to run a scan, I have to open my Norton and click on Scan Now. Does anyone know what the problem might be? I can't find any answers on the Symantec website.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Shasta,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

This problem is usually resolved by deleting the scheduled scan entry and then recreating the scan entry. Also, make sure that LiveUpdate is set to "Automatic" and that you have the latest updates. You can also manually run LiveUpdate from the main Norton AntiVirus window by clicking on "Run LiveUpdate" on the left side of the window.

The other factor that can cause this behavior is if you changed your Windows account password and you have turned on password protection in Norton. If so, turn off password protection in Norton AntiVirus, click the "Apply" button and then the "OK" button. Then go back into Norton AntiVirus and enable password protection.

Thank you,
Mike

Angry More problems with the latest Norton update
I've been trying to resolve two MAJOR problems since this update loaded yesterday morning. I was on chat with a Norton rep for over 4 hours today with no luck.
After the new update installed, my wireless internet connection will not work. I've been using a broadband Verizon card to access the internest as I can't get to my router. It's there and working because my husband's laptop is accessing it just fine. Some one must know a fix for this. The Norton folks just uninstall the Norton and then when the wireless connection still doesn't work, they say it isn't them. But it's obvious the Norton update has made some change that I don't know how to fix. (It also changed my QuickBooks so I can't open it at all. But at least the QuickBooks folks have posted a fix on their site!!!!) I'm at my wit's end. I haven't been able to get any work done in nearly two days.
