Browser and Boot up problems.
Hello. I've recently been having major troubles with my computer. I'm pretty sure it's a virus or malware of some sort, but I've been unable to get rid of it.

I had Ad-Aware and tried to scan my computer, but all that did was crash and brng me to a blue screen. I couldn't get my computer to boot after that, so I had to go to safe mode and erase the program.

Now I'm still having problems rebooting, My desktop/startbar doesn't always load, as well as my browser moving at an insanely slow pace. Most websites won't load, or just generally take a long time, though tons of pop ups come up.

Any suggestions? I've tried checking my computer with Avast!, but it hasn't really helped.

Are you running Windows XP?

If so I would attempt to boot into Safe mode with networking enabled and go to http://www.antivirus.com.

Run a full scan there and see if that helps you any. If it is a virus than it may not allow you to even scan the system.

I am running XP.

I tried what you suggested, and the scan found some maleware and a Trojan. After the sweep it said the files were deleted, but now that I've rebooted out of safe mode, the pop ups are still happening.

Okay.. Here's an update.
I can get online, but I can't go to any websites at all now. I can still use chat programs, but nothing else. The pop ups are still rampant and Avast! can't delete whatever Trojan this is. It is indeed a trojan, though.

What should I try now?

Try all the online scanners one by one, they are listed in the sticky 'security help tools'.

Try the online scanners again using Safe Mode with Networking. See if they work there.
