Huh? AVG 7.5 not free after 5/31/08?
Just got a popup from AVG 7.5 telling me that after 5/31 the free program will end and that I have to upgrade to ver 8 to continue.
Looks like it's time to check out some other free antivirus programs...

Have you tried v8? there's a free version of that one,
http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download?prd=afe

if you have and didn't like it then another good free AV would be avast.
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

though I would still reccomend avast over avg since both free versions come with an anti-virus and anti-spyware but only the free version of avast comes with an anti-rootkit.

AVG 8.0 >> http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download?prd=afe

You might try uninstalling 7.5 first and shut down ALL programs before installing 8.0 ..
There's some reports of problems installing 8.0 ..

make sure to completely delete your old avg and avg antispyware before installing! I had a heck of a time (ended up being a file from old avg still running in my task manager.

I doubt it.. [PDF] AVG Template 2006 File Format: PDF/Adobe Acrobat - View as HTML
1. Introduction. This AVG 7.5 Anti-Virus Free Edition user manual offers a general overview of. the tasks and detection technologies provided by AVG Free. ...
http://www.sel.cam.ac.uk/computing/s...ma_en_75_8.pdf
(I hope this is allowed here, I googled (avg free edition user manual pdf) and got this for you. It would be good to read up on the installation process before jumping in! I sure wish I did.....
Sorry, I just had to edit my post because the link doesn't work. You will need to google for the user manual so you can go through the installation without a hitch! Lots of people have absolutely no problem- I was one that did end up having a horrid time with the install.
Good luck!

Thanks, Green Sleeves.
Bobber, I checked my computer when I got home yesterday for any popups about AVG. I didn't see anything. Where did you get your information?

I think it came up right after it updated itself.
