Solved: Possible Virus? Need help, please. I was unsure if this is the right forum section, but here goes:
I recently had a run in with the UCleaner Desktop Hijacker, as well as a couple of other viral stowaways. Thanks to the Malware forum and Kaspersky, I have hopefully deleted those, but there's still one issue that is very annoying to me and my family. Our computer seems to be having some stability issues. What I mean is that one second it will be running fine, and the next it will be frozen, then unfreeze again a few minutes to an hour later. This usually occurs when we try to access AIM, Internet Explorer (What I'm using right now), AOL, or even some non-internet oriented programs. It will sometimes occur when trying to open the Start Menu, load a webpage, or when right-clicking on an object. This wouldn't be a big issue if we didn't use the computer a lot, but we need it for various things such as my college work and my mother's finances. Really, I'm on my last nerve with this and would rather not have to completely wipe the computer. I'm afraid it might be a virus that's still lurking, but I'm not sure. Please help me?
If you need any technical information, which I'm sure you will, simply instruct me on what you need (And how to get it. I haven't had to retrieve tech information in awhile, you understand.), and I'll retrieve it as soon as possible. Thank you very much. |
